Terms and conditions
These terms govern your use of TieOut (www.tieout.in), a bank statement converter that runs in your web browser. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the tool.
1. What the service is
TieOut reads a bank statement PDF that you select, extracts the transaction rows, and lets you export them as Excel, CSV or Tally XML. All of that work happens inside your own browser — the file is not uploaded to us and we operate no server that receives, processes or stores it. There is no account, no sign-up and no queue.
2. Free use, no commitment either way
The converter is currently free to use, including for commercial and client work. We may introduce paid features in future; if we do, any change will be announced on the site before it takes effect and will not retroactively charge you for past use. We may also change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time, and we do not guarantee that the site will be available uninterrupted.
3. Accuracy is checked, not guaranteed — you must verify
TieOut validates every extracted row against the statement's own running balance and flags rows that break the chain. That is a strong check, but it is a check on internal arithmetic, not a certification of the output. Bank statement layouts change without notice, and a PDF can be malformed in ways no parser anticipates.
You are responsible for verifying converted data against the original statement before you rely on it— before importing into books of account, filing a return, preparing financials, or giving it to a client or an authority. TieOut is a data-entry tool. It is not accounting, tax, audit, legal or financial advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind.
4. Your data and your clients' data
You keep full ownership of the statements you convert and the files you export. We claim no rights over them and, because nothing is uploaded, we never hold them. You are responsible for having the right to process any statement you convert — including a client's authority where the statement is not your own — and for handling the exported files under whatever confidentiality and data protection obligations apply to you. How the site handles data is set out in our privacy policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the tool to process statements you have no lawful right to access, or for fraud, forgery, money laundering or any other unlawful purpose;
- alter exported data so as to misrepresent a transaction record to a bank, auditor, tax authority, lender or court;
- attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or overwhelm it with automated traffic;
- resell or rebrand the service as your own hosted product, or remove attribution while presenting it as such.
Using the converter in your own practice, for as many clients as you like, is exactly what it is for and is not restricted by the above.
6. Intellectual property
The TieOut name, site design, written guides and parser code are ours or our licensors'. You get a personal, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the site as intended. Nothing here transfers ownership of the software to you. Bank names and product names such as Tally are trademarks of their respective owners; they are used only to describe compatibility, and TieOut is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by any bank or by Tally Solutions.
7. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that every statement will convert, that every field will be extracted correctly, or that the site will be error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TieOut and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or for penalties, interest or professional liability arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including from errors in converted data that verification would have caught. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which for free use is nil.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Third-party links
Our guides link to bank sites, Tally documentation and other external resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The current version always lives at this URL with the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the service.
